Destin Fire Control District’s Marine 19 is a 52-foot aluminum Coastal Fast Response Boat manufactured by Silver Ships in Theodore, Alabama. Designed as a multi-mission fire-rescue vessel, Marine 19 extends the District’s firefighting, advanced life support, search-and-rescue, and emergency-response capabilities throughout Destin Harbor, East Pass, Choctawhatchee Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Gulf of Mexico.

Marine 19 is powered by four 425-horsepower Yamaha outboard engines, providing a combined 1,700 horsepower for rapid offshore response. Its firefighting system includes two Darley fire pumps, each rated at 1,500 gallons per minute, supplying four Task Force Tips monitors with a combined pumping capacity of 3,000 gallons per minute. The vessel is also equipped with FLIR thermal-imaging technology, Simrad radar, advanced navigation and communications equipment, emergency lighting, shock-mitigating seating and decking, and a Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilization system.

The vessel’s enclosed, climate-controlled cabin functions as an advanced life support treatment area where Destin Fire paramedics can assess, stabilize, and treat critically injured or ill patients while underway. Marine 19 can accommodate one critical patient requiring continuous ALS care and approximately six to eight noncritical patients during multi-patient incidents. Based at Station 19—the Bay House—Marine 19 provides the District and its regional partners with a stable, high-capacity platform for vessel fires, waterfront structure fires, medical emergencies, diving and boating accidents, offshore rescues, mass-casualty incidents, and extended maritime operations.

Simply put, Marine 19 carries the capabilities of a modern fire-rescue company beyond the shoreline—bringing the firehouse, pump panel, rescue platform, and treatment room directly to the incident.
